In 1997, while on a church-sponsored holiday in Scotland, the Lord laid upon the hearts of Ken and Jeanie a passion for the numerous cities in Scotland which seemingly had no apparent gospel preaching church. Accompanying this was the witness in their heart that God was soon to visit Scotland again with a season of great harvest.
In the fall of 2000, the Morris family became one of the first couples to be commissioned by the Assemblies of God for missionary involvement in Scotland. What began as a simple passing thought was now becoming a reality. By November 2001, the family had relocated to the town of Hamilton (20 minutes SE of Glasgow) to begin their church planting efforts.
Today, a strong, vibrant church is growing right in the heart of Scotland. Harvest Christian Fellowship is a church filled with brand new believers and many who had given up on church altogether. Through obedience and the simple preaching of the good news of Jesus... life is once again springing from the fields of Scotland.
The Caledonian Call continues...
Currently Ken & Jeanie are in the USA on furlough. They are in hopes of being back in Scotland by the summer of 2006. Please continue to pray for the Morris' and for Scotland's cities... The town of Hamilton and it's story could be repeated many times over if there were more workers available. The goals which have been laid upon their hearts for the coming term are:
- Parenting a second church from Harvest...
- Assisting the Scottish Assemblies of God in the development of a church-planting strategy.
- Developing a coaching/mentoring network for young and future pastors.
